The green screen

Synaptic messages crash,
nerve endings screwed,
you’d think they’d have used
a different overlay.

I’m in no position to say much,
my sense of sight, sound and smell
are gone.
I still feel,
can you touch me to see
if I’m breathing.

Nerves end in a brick wall and
bounce back to replay my life,
but I’ve seen it all,
can you touch me to see
if I’m breathing.

When I go will I know if it’s all gone before me?
can you touch me to see
if I’m breathing?
